With Love To Beijing

6th Day

Our first lesson on Chinese Economy taught by Ms Liu Xiaohong. It’s not easy to keep awake but it’s an achievement for me! *Ringggg* Thank goodness it’s over. Calligraphy definitely help me to distress. How do I get the character to be thicker? Press the brush harder? No…No! Too thick…not as easy as I though it would be though..

Off we went to the Muslim stall again for our dinner…what’s on the menu today? As usual the only thing I know…niu rou chao fan (beef fried rice). A new dish in our list… Mutton satay…Yangrou satay? I have a feeling I’ll be eating the same thing for the next 2 weeks. Slaughter more cows and lamb for me!!

Now Playing: 5th Day

Arghhhhhhhhhhhh……..another lesson on Chinese Knot. Stress again after the first lesson. Is string A suppose to be in the first or third hole?? *Ding Dong* it’s still not in my head. Getting Chinese Knot out of my head is my most priority now.

Silk Street…a shopping paradise!! There was where we knew how LOUD the Chinese could be…VERY! The bargaining process for a polo t-shirt.

Seller: 360 Yuan.

Buyer: 50 Yuan.

Seller: You have fever!! Final price 250 Yuan

Buyer:  50 Yuan

Seller: You’re killing me! 150 Yuan

*Buyer walk away

Seller shouted: OK! 50 Yuan

So is the seller still alive? Cool  huh Silk Street… I’ll definitely come back.

Now Playing: 4th Day

Tiring day today. 2nd day of school in Caijing. Another lesson on Chinese Accounting and a new lesson on Note Counting method. Seems weird though that they’re having note counting as their lesson. Single finger counting, four finger counting and of course…the hardest of all, the FAN. *frustrated* still can’t get to do the FAN!!

The best part of the day…ORCHARD ROAD! Or is it Wangfujing?? Beijing’s “Orchard Road”. Our first time there..and we saw a beautiful church along the way. What’s the name of the church again?? Olympics 2008 Beijing shop..our first stop in Wangfujing. Cheap souvenirs to go along with. Looking forward to more of Wangfujing and Beijing.
